Fulong Beach is hosting an international sand sculpture competition for the month of June. A few weeks ago Nathaniel and Jessica met me there for a Saturday swim. It was much more crowded than anticipated but still worth it.
This is the train that will take me to Fulong from Taipei. About 2 hours. Pushing my way on! |
Squeezed on the train a group of boys take a nap. |
First sight of Fulong after stepping off the train. More people! |
Ah, less people but the beach isn't that way. |
Waiting at the bathroom, enjoying the trees of Taiwan. |
And the cats, always cats. |
Entrance to the beach, ticket counter. Cost: 200 NT = 7 USD |

Paying for beach access to the sand sculpture competition |

The sand sculptures! |
A great view of a beachside temple. |
The roped off swimming section packed with people. No thanks. |
The other side with no people. Time for a drip castle.
Jess and Nathaniel arrive...swimming across the waterway to avoid the entrance fee, of course ;) |
Hey, sexy lady! |

The temple provided running water and bathrooms for us to change and then get some shaved iced with red beans and condensed milk and other snacks for the long train ride back into Taipei.
Glad for another day to hang out with these two!
