Food, food, food

There's no denying that food is pleasure.  Tastes and smells transcend language and make you feel connected to a place, its culture and heritage in a way nothing else can.   The pride and comfort of North Carolina sweet potato casserole, Spanish jamon, and Taiwanese dumplings.  Jessica (Nathaniel's sweet girlfriend) and I went moped style to a quaint, riverside town known for its 100 years old architecture.  Walking the streets of a place with a visible past reminds us of the mystery and magnitude of our world and our small yet significant part in it.  What really made Daxi so memorable was the pleasure of the food.  Old architecture brings visitors, visitors bring ridiculous souvenir shops and.....FOOD STANDS!! Asian food stands are often run by families who have steamed, fried, rolled and dried for decades and become experts at their dish.  Daxi is no exception.   Here is the visual part of that sensual day.  Wherever you find yourself today search out some well made food and enjoy it!
